HANNAH MCALPINE

B.M. Performance and Music Education, Class of 2028

Hannah McAlpine is a sophomore from East Bridgewater, Massachusetts, studying music education and flute performance. This semester, she is studying with Dr. Mehne and enjoys playing second flute with the IC Symphony Orchestra, as well as performing with a woodwind quintet. She serves on the executive board for the Ithaca College Flute Association, is an active member in the National Association for Music Education, and is the founder of the IC Collegium Musicum, currently the only instrumental early music ensemble on campus! Prior to coming to IC, she studied with Dr. Lidia Chang and Kristen Dye, as well as at the South Shore Conservatory. When not fluting, Hannah can be found petting cats, reading books, embroidering, hugging trees, and going down early music research rabbit holes!
